Badass The Harley Davidson Experience Tom Campbell Brett McGibbon eBook
This is a decent book about Tom Campbell's personal experience with the Harley Davidson motorcycle. The writing style is a little difficult to follow sometimes, as he jumps back and forth between topics in the same chapter; it's not terribly frequent, but it happens enough to be slightly annoying. I got over that quickly though, as his sense of humor is on point, and had me laughing quite a bit throughout the book with his shenanigans. The writing style is almost like he is having a one sided conversation with you the reader, but he can't hear your side of the conversation; so he is pretty much talking to himself. For a first time Harley owner (only owned for a month) this was a nice little introduction to the HD experience, and took a bit of the mystique/unknown away. If you are a first time owner, or just want to get a regular guy's take on the culture, pick it up.Product details

Badass The Harley Davidson Experience Tom Campbell Brett McGibbon eBook Reviews
I downloaded this book because it was involved with motorcycles, primarily Harley Davidson motorcycles. I have been interested in motorcycle riding for some years, and found this book presented some interesting information regarding the motorcycle culture, motorcycle rallies, more specifically the Sturgis, SD yearly rally. I am not an Harley Davidson owner, and find the Harley culture to be somewhat fanatical in nature. Overall, I enjoyed this book and gave me an insight into the typical Harley owner.
What a great & enjoyable book. It's on my but when you're on vacation and you ride a 2011 CVO Ultra to get to central Oregon you just want to extend the vacation and maybe stop by that restaurant on Hwy 395 Northeast of Kalamath Falls Maybe we'll see you some summer Tom! AJ & KJ
Kinda got this book by accident but I'm really glad I did! Tom Campbell and his buddies take a ride from Sacramento, Ca. to Sturgis and take me along for the ride. Tom explains a lot about the Harley culture, bike maintainence, and landmarks along the way. Great fun, only wish I could ride with Tom and the boys some time!
New to an old Harley, I was casting about looking for a book to better acquaint me with the bike and the culture. Given the title, or rather the subtitle, I thought this book would do just that. But it didn't, or doesn't.
"Badass--The Harley Davidson Experience" is a travelogue. And I'm sure that's appropriate to someone's reading shelf. I'll give that the author's trip to Sturgis (two trips, if I remember right) and his motoring across Nevada to get there held some interest, having lived in Nevada. But the book's title suggested something additional. And that it didn't deliver.
A slim chapter or two covered tools, packing one's bags with necessary items like rain gear and so on. There was nothing about learning to ride, nothing about day trips, nothing about common repairs, maintenance of chrome, frequency and so on. Okay, I lied. I learned that oil changes need to be done every 2500 miles or so and the importance of being careful in selecting a riding buddy. And learned that the author(s) have a fetish for collecting tee-shirts at Harley dealerships wherever they ride.
Maybe the price makes up for it. Want an easy beach read about heading here and there on a Harley? This may be it, and I've given it four stars because of that. As for a first book about Harleys, I'm still looking...
I ride a Harley and identify with very little in this book. Over and over Tom and his buddy ride somewhere so Tom can get a pin and his buddy can buy t shirts. After they get their pin and shirts they go home till time to ride somewhere to get a pin and some t shirts.
If your a Harley rider, and have rode with others on a few long trips, you will definitely relate to the short stories in this book. I would say half of the incidents, situations, and observations in the book also happened to me. If your not a rider - read something else.
Entertaining read
